George Clooney opened up about his seven-year-old twins with wife Amal Clooney and why he thinks they’re becoming ‘too British’ in a pair of unearthed clips.
The 63-year-old actor and his 46-year-old British-Lebanese wife share Alexander and Ella, and he opened up about his family’s holiday traditions in recently-unearthed clips from 2020 and 2023.
Clooney – who was seen in St. Tropez with Amal – was speaking with Stephen Colbert in a 2020 interview on Late Night, when he spoke about his multi-lingual kids.
He revealed that he is trying to prevent his multi-lingual kids from cherishing the British slang they’ve learned so far.
‘Look, I’ve got problems already, which is I’m desperately trying not to make them little Brits,” Clooney revealed.
‘It’s not a jumper, it’s a sweater. It’s not a boot, it’s the trunk. It’s the pavement, it’s the sidewalk,’ he said.

‘I’ve done everything to change their version to speak with an English accent so they were writing out their note,’ to Santa, he added.

He revealed he’s devised a way to have his kids behave when the holidays come around.
‘I’ve devised a way to get them to behave. When they’re asleep in the morning and they start to make noises…and you can hear the two of them getting at each other or something, and I stand outside their door, and I go, “Oh, hey, hi, Santa,”‘ Clooney said.
‘And then you hear Santa is there and he’s like “Ho ho ho!” And I say, “What are you doing here, Santa?” and he says, “Oh, I’m just making sure that the kids are being good kids,”‘ Clooney admitted.
‘And I say, “I think they are, Santa.” And you can hear them going, “We are Santa! We are!”‘ Clooney said.
‘And then he leaves and they come out, and they’re unbelievably well behaved. By the way, that can work on your parents as well at a certain age,’ he joked.
Jimmy Kimmel revealed in a 2023 interview with Clooney that he ran into Amal, who told him that their twins now speak two different languages that the actor doesn’t speak, French and Italian.
