Right-wing commentator Nick Fuentes, who lives on Berwyn block, claims man approached home
There was a Berwyn police shooting Wednesday. John Lyons was shot and killed on Home Avenue. He was connected to a Mahomet, Illinois triple homicide.
BERWYN, Ill. (WLS) — Berwyn police shot and killed a 24-year-old Westchester man wanted for a triple homicide downstate Wednesday.
Officer were called to the 1800-block of Home Avenue for a report of a male suspect with a gun just before 11:40 p.m.
The Berwyn neighborhood was the end of a crime spree that investigators believe spanned 150 miles.

Police found the suspect, who ran away from officers.
He forced his way into a home in the 1800-block of Wenonah Avenue, where he shot and killed two dogs, police said.
The man then ran east into a yard in the 1800-block of Home Avenue, which is a residential area.
He disobeyed officers’ commands to stop, and fired shots at police, officials said.

Berwyn police returned fire, and fatally shot the suspect.
No officers were injured in the incident.
It was late, but one woman who heard some of the violent interaction was clearly rattled.
“When I hear it, the voice, the police say, ‘don’t move. Stay there.’ I ran into my room in the front. I saw police officers with the gun, I go hiding,” she said.
Others in the neighborhood were awoken.
“I started to see some bright lights being flashed into the houses,” nearby resident Taylor Gean said.
Moments later and just next-door, another neighbor heard a commotion.
“It started screaming, the police officers. Somebody started screaming at him,” Juana Viccsarra said. “He’s got black glove on the left hand. Right hand he not have glove.”
Right-wing commentator Nick Fuentes, who lives on the block, posted a photo on social media, claiming a man approached his door with a pistol dawn, and what he says appears to be crossbow. Fuentes said the man yelled his name, while trying to enter the home.
“I heard a couple gunshots toward the alleyway. As soon as I heard that, I heard a little bit of rustling in the yards. So, I went right back inside,” Gean said.
Berwyn police said the man was wanted for a triple homicide committed that same day in Mahomet, Illinois, which is just outside of Champaign.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as John R. Lyons.
Mahomet police said they were called to a home in the 1100-block of Riverside Drive just after 9:40 p.m. for a report of a triple shooting.
When police arrived, they found three people with life-threatening gunshot wounds.
One person died on the scene, and the other two were taken to a nearby hospital, but both died, as well.
Mahomet police identified those killed as Janis, Sara and Caleb Mason.
The Illinois State Police Public Integrity Task Force is investigating.
Police said there is no threat to the community.
