The Kansas State football team has one last chance to turn the frown from a late-season slump upside down.
The Wildcats (8-4), eager to reverse a disastrous month of November — three losses in the final four regular-season games — can head into the offseason in a much more positive frame of mind Thursday with a victory over Rutgers (7-5) in the Rate Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. central time at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix.
K-State is favored by a touchdown, but the teams ended the regular season trending in opposite directions as Rutgers won three of its last four games, finishing with a 41-14 blowout at Michigan State on Nov. 30. The Wildcats, meanwhile, dropped a 29-21 decision at Iowa State.
