The college football bowl season will feature an exciting match between the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Vanderbilt Commodores in the Birmingham Bowl.

The team will be led by quarterback Haynes King, who had an impressive completion rate of 72.5%, throwing for 1,910 yards, 11 touchdowns, and just one interception this season.

The Commodores concluded the season with a 6-6 record, highlighted by an impressive victory over Alabama, the first such win in 40 years of their series. All attention will be on standout quarterback Diego Pavia, who has demonstrated his versatility by leading the team in both passing and rushing. He accumulated 2,133 passing yards and 716 rushing yards, with a total of 17 passing touchdowns and six rushing touchdowns.

Adam Rittenberg writes: “The game pairs two teams with unimpressive overall records but very impressive wins, which include Alabama (Vanderbilt), Miami (Georgia Tech) and Duke (Georgia Tech), as well as some agonizingly close losses to strong opponents. The quarterback matchup between Georgia Tech’s Haynes King and Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia also should generate attention. Neither team finished the season particularly well, but Georgia Tech’s ability to control the pace with King and running back Jamal Haynes, while mixing in downfield passes, could provide the edge. Few would be surprised if Pavia leads Vandy to its first bowl win since 2014, but I’m going with the Ramblin’ Wreck.”

Clutch Points: Vanderbilt

Bryan Logan writes: “Georgia Tech is missing a lot due to the transfer portal. First, is reciever Eric Singleton, but they are also missing left tackle Corey Robinson. Further, they are missing two defensive starters. Vanderbilt is missing tackle Gunnar Hansen as well. This should be a tight game with two teams based around the quarterback’s ability to run. Still, Vanderbilt has the better defense, and are better in turnover margin this year. Take Vanderbilt in this one.”
