Kendrick Lamar is set to return to the Super Bowl halftime stage tonight.
Lamar, who performed in 2022 alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent, will headline the show for the first time this evening.
“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” he said when he was announced as the performer. “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”
Jay Z, the founder of Roc Nation, who produces the half time show, said, “Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”
Lamar will be joined by SZA; the two have collaborated on songs “All the Stars,” “30 for 30,” “luther,” “Gloria,” and “Doves in the Wind.”
