Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have split, per a Wednesday, Jan. 8 report from TMZ, after 17 years of marriage. While it came as a surprise to most fans, it seems that the 43-year-old actress was giving hints along the way that not everything was going smoothly with her husband.
A People insider promised that Alba and Warren will “remain close,” but “Jess has mentioned over the years though that it’s hard to keep the spark.” In a July 2021 appearance on Katherine Schwarzenegger’s Instagram show, Before, During and After Baby, the Dark Angel star admitted that the romance is a tough thing to keep up with. “It’s all rosy for two and a half years. But then after that, you become roommates,” she said. “You’re just going through the motions. You have the responsibilities. It’s a lot of, like, checking the boxes, right?”

Alba also revealed that sometimes people hurt their loved ones the most because they take the relationship for granted. “We have, like, obviously the friendship, the comfort of, like, ‘You’re not going anywhere,’ and so sometimes you don’t treat those people the best, right?” she explained. “You don’t consider their feelings in the way that you would consider other people’s feelings. So that is something that I think is a constant one to work on.”
The former couple married in 2008 and share three children, daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13, and son Hayes, 7. They met on the set of Fantastic Four in 2004 where she played Sue Storm and he was serving as a director’s assistant.
The whispers surrounding their marriage began to grow when she was spotted without her wedding ring at a pre-Golden Globes bash on Saturday, Jan. 4. But fans needed to look no further than her Dec. 31, 2024, Instagram post which featured a carousel of snapshots and quotes. The seventh image might have spelled it all out for everyone.
The quote reads: “My mantra for 2025. If it messes with my peace, it’s too damn pricey. If it dims my shine, it’s got to go. If it makes me question my worth, it’s getting left in 2024. I’m entering 2025 focused and fully in my power.”
It sounds like Alba is starting a fresh chapter in the new year.
