In March, Karen was involved in a motor vehicle accident. She was charged and found guilty of five out of six charges, including the lead charge of driving under the influence (DUI). The Real Housewives of Potomac star was also found guilty of negligent driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, and failure to notify authorities of an address change. She was, however, acquitted of reckless driving. Karen will now be sentenced on January 29, 2025.

Karen’s lawyer spoke with People about the outcome of the two-day trial. A. Scott Bolden told the outlet, “Although we are disappointed in the jury’s verdict, we, of course, respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case.”

Karen was represented by Reed Smith law firm, and the partner added, “We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time.”

Karen Huger couldn’t outrun the body camera footage

TMZ first reported that Karen had been driving in an “aggressive manner” before the collision. One of the witnesses who testified noted that Karen cursed at the EMT and responding officers at the scene. The source also shared that Karen’s car smelled of alcohol.

Newly-released body camera footage showed Karen swaying and telling the officer to “f*ck off” and “go f*ck yourselves.” Karen could face up to two years in prison.
