ATLANTA — Snow is falling cross metro Atlanta and north Georgia Friday morning, with accumulations on the roads virtually everywhere and deteriorated conditions across all major and local roadways.
As of 8:30 a.m., even interstates are becoming increasingly impassable throughout the region, including I-75, I-85, I-285 and I-20. MARTA has suspended bus service due to “hazardous road conditions.” Officials say people should expect delays on Red and Gold lines traveling to the airport.
It’s snowing basically everywhere around Atlanta, and ground accumulations are occurring on virtually all roads. Stay off the roads except in extreme circumstances!
The snow ending. Sleet and freezing rain is beginning to fall. With this snow pack and now icy weather beginning, roadway conditions are going to rapidly become treacherous! https://t.co/EF95CNZj3G
