With a 7-point deficit and 2:13 on the clock, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers’ attempt to tie the game on a 4th & Goal ended in disaster. Ewers’ former roommate, Sawyer, notched Ohio State’s fourth sack of the night, knocked the ball out of Ewers’ hands and took the ball coast-to-coast for the score.

It was too little, too late for the Longhorns to climb back with a 28-14 deficit and 1:53 remaining. Ewers put his best foot forward, but an interception by Caleb Downs finalized the outcome — the Longhorns will meet the Ohio State Buckeyes at 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
